The Austin Healey Sprite was manufactured in the UK from 1958 until 1971, and was affectionately named the 'Frog Eye' due to it's very unique headlight set up. Designed as a low cost sports car for the 'working man', at a very affordable price of £669. A total of 48,987 'frogeyes' were made.
In 1961 the Mark 2 Sprite was introduced, alongside an MG Badged version, and the most distinctive feature of the frogeye sprite disappeared. Collectively known as Spridgets, the Mark 2 bodyshell was reworked featuring a newly styled front end, using a more convential headlight set up.
